The First of a Four Year Project

This display begins a four year series depicting various aspects of WW1.  I have, as space permits, tried to depict the events that began the war, the leaders of each country, and various technologies developed at this time. The war was fought with modern weapons using old war-time strategies.  Medical procedures had to be invented and refined to cope with the devastating wounds both physical and psychological the young men suffered. This first display is an overview of the war and a snap-shot of Arkansas's participation in it. I hope it will be educational and that the anniversary of WWI will be meaningful to those of us who view from the lens of history.
