This LibrGuide provide several components for anyone seeking a Library Science Degree.

The print collection is located on the second floor of the library at 900 W. Capitol Ave., Little Rock, AR 72201.

Library hours are 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM  Monday through Friday (Closed weekends and state holidays).

Scholarships Opportunities

Arkansas Library Association Scholarship Committeehttp://arlib.org/scholarships/index.php 
  When possible, two scholarships are made available to members.  The application process opens July 1 and closes September 30.

The Arkansas Library Association Annual Scholarship will be awarded to an applicant who is
pursuing a degree from an American Library Association accredited institution.

The Arkansas Library Association School Library Media Specialist (SLMS) Scholarship will be
awarded to an applicant who is pursuing a degree from The National Council for Accreditation of
Teacher Education accredited institution

The Arkansas State Library Scholarship purpose is “to aid Arkansas public libraries in employing
master’s degree librarians by providing educational opportunities for public library staff members
through traditional, on-campus or distance learning.

   

Library Degrees

Library Support Staff Certification http://ala-apa.org/lssc/  LSSC is directed towards those who work in positions in libraries that do not require a graduate degree in Library Science. 

Accredited programs for MLS (academic, public, school & special)  http://www.ala.org/accreditedprograms/  This degree is not offered by an Arkansas institution.
